Written by Brian Warner
The silent breeze swept across the Mary creating ripple lines across the water,
Before turning its attention to the high ridges up above the River’s embankment where the Kangaroo Grass sat as sentinels,
The silent breeze tickled its way through the sentinels, awakening the sirens within the Kangaroo Grass to laugh with pleasure,
The shrill of the sirens triggered seeds to drop from their hair to hide among the rich soil of the earth that veiled a new eternity,
It is by harnessing Fire that a new eternity can be developed opening new beginnings for our Native Grasses and Native Animals
To restore our eco system is to restore our Cultural way of life
THE COLLAB GREW...
As our collaboration unearthed memories through our conversations about place we felt the need to include some more fellow collabs.
Elizabeth Anderson shared her expertise with all things Floral and natural environment focus. It was fun learning more about boiling things and extracting yellow and green tonal range colours.
AND GREW...
Living in small town can have its perks. In creative practice we all need other creatives to yarn with and flesh the though provoking moments in time. Elijah Huckel & Mia Hacker shared stories on the street that led to sharing of current projects.
This sparked a memory of place on wah wah country along a beach that is special to both Brian Warner and Mia. Memories of glowing water droplets playfully rising and falling in the darkness.

and the Night body
QUOTE: Fiona Harding - "I'm so proud that my vision translated into this outcome. The glow, glowed, the beads swayed, and from the feedback I've gotten it achieved its job of transporting the viewer away from the everyday. A huge part thanks to the amazing score @math_feels_ developed for it! I'm so grateful to have crossed paths with someone so talented!
A video performance work, Night Body combines spoken word, costume design, sound, and movement. The title makes reference to the fruiting body of the luminous Mycena Chlorophos, a species of agaric fungus, only visible at night.
Night Body continues Harding’s exploration of psychedelics as a subject matter and was developed after the artist sighted a Mycena Chlorophos in her backyard at night. Filmed in the location of the sighting, Night Body presents the artist in a hand-constructed, mushroom-shaped costume, made from 660 hand-rolled ceramic beads and a cap painted in layers of glow-in-the-dark paint.
Night Body draws upon Bauhaus aesthetics at the intersection of visual art, design, craft, and performance. Through the mirroring and overlay of imagery, movement, and sound, Harding merges her identity with that of the fungus. The work is a celebration of nature intended to illicit conversations about the interconnectedness of the micro and macro Worlds.
AND SOUNDSCAPE GREW...
Being immersed in place leaves us surrounded by sounds. We wanted to bring the viewer outside.
Brett Leavy has produced and digitally mix mastered tracks to reflect first nations perspectives of the elements of life.
